I'm a very proud person. I like to succeed. And one of the things that I dislike the most is accepting help from others. Of course, I'm an idiot and I frequently need that help, so I've learned to swallow that pride and just accept it as a reality. Of course we want to do it ourselves. Freelancers are, by necessity, self-starters and loner rangers. But if you sit down and listen to the ones who have made the long haul, year after year, for a decade or more, you'll soon discover that they never would have made it without the help of others.
Open yourself up to help. It might hurt your pride to do it, but you'll be happy to have avoided the failure you might have stumbled into on your own.
